Emery & Dylan: 36.4 weeks and Homecoming

This will probably be the shortest blog I’ve ever written, but I’m totally okay with that because sweet finality to a long season deserves just a few beautiful, short sentences. This journey has spoken for itself…

From 17 weeks, we faced the reality of losing our twin girls. Then we faced preterm labor at 31 weeks and 3 days. Then we faced NICU. But what we have seen become reality every day is that our girls are living and breathing examples that miracles do indeed still happen and that hope and faith prevail. After a lot of ups and downs, a lot of sacrifices, a lot of blind faith, a lot of our entire world upside down, a lot of grace, a lot of unknowns, a lot of amazing people praying us through, standing with us, believing, helping, and providing their time, services, and money; after four months of bed rest, Dylan in NICU 33 days, and Emery shocking everyone with only being 3 days behind in NICU 36 days, for a total of 135 days start to finish……………
We made it. Our girls more importantly made it. We crossed over. We have crossed the finish line. We have closed the book, and started the next phase. We are tired but not weary. We are overwhelmed and yet overjoyed. Our family of five is together. Our girls are healthy and home and by Gods grace alone did we actually do it. Because HE did it! Is this real?! #emeryanddylansmiraclestory
